The electrically heated glass is an insulating glass unit or a laminated glass, in which the electric current generates heat for desired purpose. Heating is easy to control. The heat produced can be addressed up to 90% efficiency to the desired direction using state-of-art glass coatings and gasses in between the glasses. There is no cold wall effect or draft in the proximity of an electrically heated glass. The inner surface of the electrically heated glass is warmed up to the room temperature to even the temperature differences, hence the cold wall effect and the convection are prevented. With electrically heated glass energy consumption is significantly lower than with traditional fan coils and radiators: the surface of the glass is not heated to unnecessary high temperature; thus the heat loss is minimized and savings are up to 50%! Surface temperature is controlled by sensor and house automation.

The temperature difference between glass surface and room temperature in winter is often over 5 ° C in Finland in spite of the improved thermal insulation properties of traditional insulating glasses. As the room air humidity increases, moisture begins to condense on cold glass surfaces. With conventional convectors moisture can be further condense on the upper surfaces of horizontal frames. By the electrically heated glass the temperature of the inner surface of the glass is risen just above the dew point temperature by a small electric current hence moisture cannot be condensed. With electrically heated glass customers can create almost any form of façades  freely for enclosures with high humidity and even use roof lites without risk of condensation!
